Cover Reveal – Filthy Foreign Exchange

Coming April 24th

New York Times bestselling authors Angela Graham and S.E. Hall have teamed up again to bring you a full-length, steamy new romance.

Echo Kelly is loyal to her studies, family, and aerial artistry. She has no time for or interest in anything else, and is heartbroken when her oldest brother, Sebastian, gets accepted to a study-abroad program— exchanging places with cocky, not-at-all-shy foreign exchange student Kingston Hawthorne.

Kingston Hawthorne had the life every twenty-year-old guy dreams of— endless cash, easy women, and fast cars— until his father ripped it all away, shipping him off to the States and placing him temptingly close to the underage virgin who fascinates him in the most challenging of ways.

With Kingston’s bedroom just a connecting bathroom away from Echo’s, the chemistry between them is even more enticing than the notes he leaves for her on the shower door.

How long can you pretend you’re just friends?

Restless Waters Audiobook Release!

We are so excited to celebrate the audio release of Restless Waters
by Jessica Park!
Author: Jessica Park
Narrated by Arielle DeLisle
Music by Troy
Release date: November 2015
storm is coming, and with storms come restless waters.

Pulled from the depths of catastrophe and
depression, Blythe McGuire has learned to escape from her past while embracing
the future. A future now entwined with the Shepherd siblings.

With Chris, she shares a staggering romance
that kicks heartbreak’s ass.

With Sabin, she shares an intense friendship,
one that’s becoming more complicated than either had expected. A friendship now
being put to the test because Sabin’s brutal past still haunts him. Because
trauma is the gift that keeps on giving without mercy.

Now Sabin is the one left drowning and
struggling to breathe, and his turmoil threatens to send all three into dark
currents they cannot escape. Even after going through her own hell, saving
Sabin will take much more than Blythe had anticipated. Their connection and
their love could help, but getting him to reach for her hand could be Blythe’s
biggest challenge ever.

From Author Jessica Park
Gah! I am so excited for the release of the Restless Waters audiobook! It’s always
exciting when a book I’ve written comes to life in a new form, but this project
snowballed into something more beautiful than I could have imagined. I wasn’t
sure I was even going to do an audiobook, but then I reconnected with my
fabulous Left Drowning narrator,
Arielle DeLisle. Once she was on board, my enthusiasm for creating this version
of my book soared. She understands my characters as well as I do, and she’s the
only person in the world I would entrust to deliver their voices.
So, as thrilled as I was to have her attached
to this project, there was one idea I had to present, and I wasn’t sure how it
would go over with her…
includes lyrics from my friend and
phenomenally talented musician, Troy. Beyond that, he actually wrote a song for me! Er, well, for the
is the powerful single he created, and everything about it reaches into my
heart. More music from the book is available on his recently released EP,
The Lights Came
, and he’ll also be releasing more music
from the book soon!
So, I couldn’t imagine having these lyrics
narrated… I mean, it’s one thing to read the lyrics in the context of the
book, because it’s sort of the equivalent of poetry, but I felt sure something would
really be lost if they were read aloud. More than that, we had an opportunity
to do something incredibly unique and dynamic.
Because Arielle is a sassy rule breaker and a
rebel, like I am, she agreed: We would ask Troy to record acoustic versions of
his music to incorporate into the audiobook.
And then Troy agreed.
And then suddenly the three of us were
working together seamlessly on this production! An indie trifecta, each of us
bringing something different to this work, and all of us supporting and
cheering on the other. It was an extraordinary experience.
Troy and I have been trying to work together
for years (his former band, In Like Lions, is mentioned in Flat-Out Love!), and we finally got our chance. Troy is, without a
doubt, the voice of Sabin. Nobody sings with Troy’s level of passion, emotion,
depth, soul, and beauty. It was an honor to use his lyrics in the text of the
book, but hearing his voice as Sabin’s in the audiobook is phenomenally moving,
and I am so grateful for all the work he put in. Troy also narrates the chapter
titles and opening lyrics, and I think it’s just perfect having him as Sabin
doing those introductory pieces.
As far as the three of us know, an audiobook
that incorporates music as the Restless
one does hasn’t been done before, so that’s another thrill for us!
Listeners not only get to savor Arielle’s perfect narration (Man, does she
capture these characters and all the ups and downs of the story!), but they get
to hear what it would be like to be right there with Sabin as he sings and
plays guitar.
We are so proud of this audiobook and
terribly excited for fans of the Left
series to take a listen!
From narrator Arielle DeLisle
Restless Waters was a project I held very
close to my heart. The timing of how it came together for me — as a narrator
and collaborator and fan of the prequel I’d recorded 2 years ago — was truly a
beautiful experience for me. It’s one of my favorite projects I’ve worked on,
ever. To say this was an intense recording experience would be an
understatement! Not only was this thick with emotion and depth, which required
a lot from me as a narrator, a challenge I absolutely loved, but it also is an
exceptionally unique multimedia audiobook. I could not imagine a better suited
team, all of us with our own personal connections to the work, and all driven
toward the end-product being as great as we could make it.
Working with Troy and his producer, Dante, to
get just the right feel and timing to allow the story to unfold around and on
top of the music was a beautiful enhancement to this already moving story. I
have a background in commercial production and was able to facilitate this
collaboration, and Jessica and I were on the same page — if we break the rules
of how audiobooks are produced, it has to have meaning and it has to be
perfect. The script informs the narration, introducing the music adds dimension
to the tone, and the blend of narration and music work together to create an
atmosphere that you just don’t get when it’s only one piece or the other. I
love what we’ve done and couldn’t be happier with how it all came together.

Book Description
Charlie Ashley, or Mr. Ashley as his clients know him, is a high-end male escort who gets paid thousands for whatever services his clients require. He’s lived the last ten years alone, not letting anyone in, enjoying his success and provocative lifestyle.Allison Hayes has no idea the man she is falling in love with is a male escort. She connects with Charlie through their love of music, playing a taunting game asking herself if she loves him, hates him or if she is going to save him.

After meeting Allison, Charlie enters a world where everything he knows no longer makes sense, leaving him too scared to move forward, yet making it impossible to look back. But can he give up his entire life for love?

The memories that flood through me as I walk through the door of Slim’s make me stop and smile. The smell of beer mixed with years of smoke and sweat is something that brings me back in time. Memories of my first few months in San Francisco normally haunt me but as I stand here all I can do is smile.

I can’t believe ten years have flown by. I was barely eighteen and living out of my car at the time. I had no money, and even though I’m not proud of some of the things I did, I had to do what I had to do to get by.
One night I pick-pocketed a man for his wallet, only so I could buy food, I swear. I’ll admit that I chose him, though, because I thought we looked a lot alike and I was looking for an ID that I could use. Everything in the City was 21 and over and it just flat out sucked being only eighteen. After that, Slim’s quickly became my new hangout. I wasn’t there to get drunk, like most teenagers would have been, I was only there to listen to the bands perform. Music became my solace and gave me a sense of home when there was no place left to go.
That’s how I first heard of Unwritten Law. They played at Slim’s the first night I was able to get in. They quickly became my favorite band, and even though I’m so far removed from the punk scene now, when I heard they were in town there was no way I was going to miss the show.
“No fucking way!” I hear someone yell through the crowd as a hand grabs my shoulder abruptly turning me around. Everyone inside Slim’s turns, staring at me, wondering if a fight is about to brew.
I clench my fist and just like old times, I’m ready to throw down with whoever it is in an instant. That is, until I see Mark, an old friend, standing behind me. A big smile comes across both of our faces as we complete our handshake combination from years ago without skipping a beat.
It’s been years since I’ve seen anyone from my old crew and seeing Mark here now, I’m reminded why. His hard life is getting to him and it shows on his rough skin.
“Where the hell have you been the last few years, man?” Mark quizzes me, looking me up and down, noticing the designer clothes and Gucci shoes.
Damn, I should have been more thoughtful with my wardrobe so I would fit in more.
I shrug my shoulders, trying to think of how to change the subject just as a guitar string squeals over the speakers, way too loud, startling me as the crowd erupts in applause as Unwritten Law takes to the stage. I know I’ve dodged a bullet, at least for the moment, as I turn to the band and start to sing along.
The song California Sky plays, reminding me even more of the good ‘ol days, where life was harder, but I knew nothing better. I was thrown into this life at such a young age and survived. Shit, I not only survived, I succeeded to where I am now. I smile at the thought as I start to sing along.
I glance around the room to see if anyone else I know is there and that’s when I spot her. She’s standing by herself and just the sight of her makes my chest ache and my dick twitch. I stare as my breath begins to rush. My heart starts to beat so hard that I quickly have to look away.
What the fuck?
I squeeze my now sweaty palms together and try to calm my breath. I have no clue what just happened. Shaking my head, I take a deep breath and tilt my head back in her direction.
Her hair lies long past her shoulders and falls down straight, splitting over her left breast. It’s straight, dark auburn in color and shinier than the punk rock, greasy haired people in the club. She looks to be in her early twenties with a slender face and a long, bare, sexy neckline. Her cheeks are lightly blushed with color and her pale, pink lips are making me want to bite her pouty bottom lip.
Her jeans are torn in just the right places and she’s wearing a black, fitted tank top that reads Unwritten Law with a red heart around the words and her red bra straps showing through. She’s trying hard to fit in the punk scene, but her black Christian Louboutin red bottom high heels are a dead giveaway. I look down, laughing to myself again at my choice of wearing my Gucci sneakers to a rock show.
I catch a glimpse of her again and my lips start to quiver as I watch her hold a drink up to her lips, taking a sip with the little black straw. My lips part, like I have no control over them whatsoever, as she holds the straw in her hand, twirling it around her tongue and sipping it like she’s playing a taunting game with my head, or my dick I should say.
I can’t take my eyes off of her as I watch her take another sip of her drink and dance slowly to the music. Just as I realize I’m totally staring at this chick, Mark hits my arm, motioning to go get a drink. I follow him as he walks to the L shape, New Orleans style bar that runs the length of the floor.
Mark leans up against it trying to get the bartender’s attention shouting, “Two beers!”
The bartender hands the beers to Mark who swings around handing me one. I nod in appreciation as we click the necks of the bottles and take a drink.
Looking over the neck of the bottle, I search for her again. Once I find her, I can’t help but stare in her direction. Like my body is totally disconnected from my mind, my lips part again as I slowly lick from one side to the other trying to imagine what it would be like to part her lips with my tongue and slip inside her sweet mouth.
Fuck! What is wrong with me?
I’ve never had this reaction to a girl. I quickly take a drink of my beer shaking my head, running my hand through my hair then readjusting my suddenly uncomfortable jeans.
I’m trying to enjoy the show but I can’t help my eyes from glancing her way so many times that I’m feeling a little embarrassed, like I’m a stalker or something. I just want her to look my direction because I am dying to see her eyes.
Even though she’s across the club, our line of vision is clear since everyone has gathered at the stage, jumping and singing with the band. I can tell she’s enjoying the show even though she is sitting near the back still tantalizingly sipping her cocktail and dancing by herself. A group of girls surround her, talking back and forth, but I can tell they’re not as into the show as she is.
CPK comes on, signaling the finale of the show. It was the band’s first hit and they always pay homage to their beginnings by playing it as their last set song.
I’m not one to pursue a girl, hell, I already have so many I can barely keep their names straight. There is something about her though, and I can’t stop myself. Slowly I start to make my way to her, having no clue what I’m going to say.
As I approach, a friend of hers grabs her quickly, pulling her away screaming, “Come on, this is the last song. Let’s leave before it’s too crowded.”
And that was it. She was gone. A frown fills my face as I watch her slip away, not knowing who she was.

I twist my bangs back away from my face and pin them in place before washing off today’s makeup. I feel completely plain without it, but it’s also refreshing to be rinsed clean and I know present company doesn’t mind. Speaking of which, I’m glad I get to keep him for the night. I love it when that happens. We don’t exactly make a habit of it, but I always sleep better cocooned in his arms. It makes me feel like I’m his. I guess in some ways I am, even though I’m not. I certainly don’t belong to anyone else. I can’t imagine ever being with anyone else—even if being with Trevor without actually being with Trevor one day breaks my heart.
I shake the thought away, aware that I’m starting to think too much. He’s here, now, and that’s what he can give me. Besides that, it’s more than anyone else gets. This is how it is between us. It works.
I stop just inside the doorway of my bedroom, caught off guard by what awaits. Or should I say, who? I have to stifle a small gasp at the sight of him—not because I’m startled by his change in appearance, but because he leaves me breathless. He’s so damn mesmerizing I can’t help but stare. Every. Time.
At this point, I think it’s safe to assume I’ll never get used to the masterpiece that he is, and that’s more than fine.
It’s quite apparent that he has endured the confines of his dress attire for as long as he can stand it. I can’t mourn the lost image of him all spruced up, not when I have the image of him all stripped down to admire. All he has on is a pair of gym shorts. He keeps a pair stowed away in my dresser for nights like these. He’s sitting at the window, which he has opened, with one leg straddling the bench and the other bent in front of him so that he might rest his beer atop his knee.
Trevor isn’t built like an athlete. He isn’t bulky with muscle. He isn’t lanky, like me, either. He’s made up of lean, toned lines that whisper of the physical power that makes him all man. But his inner strength? All the vulnerable and fragile pieces of him that make him so strong, the pieces of him that I love so much, that’s what catches my eye.
He wears his heart on his sleeve. Literally. The world might not know it, but I do. I know that every inch of ink that covers his beautiful skin tells his story. The tattoo on his left arm stretches from his wrist all the way up to his shoulder and spills over his heart. I can’t see it now, because of the way he’s sitting, but I know he’s got script tattooed down his left side across his ribs. Finally, his right arm is adorned in a half sleeve. I say finally not as a way to express finality, but simply the end of his list for now. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to learn that he’s dreaming of more.
“Daph! Your beer’s getting warm!” he yells, his gaze still directed out the window.
I grin, partly because I love how he knows I hate it when my beer gets even the slightest bit warm; partly because he hasn’t noticed me standing here staring at him. “I’m right here,” I say as I continue to make my way into the room. I speak softly, but I startle him just the same.
“Shit, Wings—” he mutters, spitting out his nickname for me as he jumps. He has to snatch up his beer as his leg shoots out in front of him. I laugh and grab my half empty bottle from off of the edge of the bookshelf where he’s lined up our reserve. “How long were you standing there?”
“Not long,” I lie. I sit opposite of him, bending my knees and propping my feet up.
“Sure,” he murmurs, shaking his head at me in disbelief. I smirk in response.
Now this is one of those moments where, if we were in a movie or a romance novel, he’d crawl across the bench and kiss me. But this isn’t a fairy tale and he won’t kiss me because I won’t let him. We can’t go there. What he and I share, it works because we don’t go there. As crazy as it might sound, our restraint excites me. Simply knowing that he feels it, too, makes this moment more intimate than not.
He brings his beer up to his lips and tilts his head back as he empties the remaining contents into his mouth. As he sucks out every last drop, he watches me watch him and I get lost in his oval eyes. His irises are in a glorious state of confusion, unsure of whether or not they are blue or green. His hair struggles with the same color dilemma, his dark blonde locks sometimes appearing light brown, depending on how the light hits them.
For just a second, I imagine running my fingers through his soft, loose, curls. Or, at least, I consider them curls; or they would be—big, beautiful, silky curls—if he grew his hair out longer. I know he won’t. He likes to keep his slightly shaggy, fuck-me-now mane just long enough to entice you to do just that. Except, we won’t be doing that, either.
His gaze is still locked with mine. He’s teasing me. I know it. He knows it—but this is our game. I can’t look away first. If I do, he’s won. So instead, I bring my beer to my lips, tilt my head back, and drink, all the while watching him watch me.
When we’re both finished, he stands and takes my empty bottle before leaning down to kiss my neck, just below my ear. “You win, Wings,” he murmurs. I grin, feeling victorious. “But you left the bottle opener in the kitchen. I’ll be right back.” He kisses me once more as a reward and then turns to leave.

Author Bio

R.C. Martin finds it a bit awkward referring to herself in the third person, so she’s only going to do it for this one sentence. (We all know who’s writing this bio anyway!)

I’m a born and bred Coloradan. I will always claim that square state as my home! While I now reside in Virginia, the land of the Rocky Mountains is where I’ve left a piece of my heart and where my characters come to life. I’m a woman in love with love and filled to the brim with compassion for women like me, on a journey to find themselves in today’s society. I aspire to inspire my readers to do more than settle. I hope that my writing will remind everyone that she (or he!) is valuable and worthy of the best kind of love–the kind that is gentle, patient, faithful, passionate, all consuming, never ending, and leaves you breathless.

When I’m not writing I’m reading; when I’m not reading I’m writing…you know how it goes! I also enjoy cooking, baking, crocheting, and jigsaw puzzles. Basically, I’m an old soul with a young heart, nonchalantly waiting for my prince to come.

Review – Quirks & Kinks by Laurel Ulen Curtis

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000035_00020]

Author : Laurel Ulen Curtis

Genre : Contemporary Romance, Humor

Publication Date : July 13, 2015

Buy Links : Amazon

Disclaimer: Book was received in exchange for an honest review.

“It’s a new show, Quirks and Kinks. We’ve already selected a male reenactment actor to be your co-host, so you’re the last piece of the puzzle. There’s some seriously f@$%ed up sh*t out there that people are into, and the two of you are going to be the face of it.”

“I’m going to be the face of people’s freakish fetishes?” I asked disbelievingly.

Larry shrugged his nonchalance, shoving it directly down the throat of my panic. “Half of it.”

That conversation was the beginning of more than a show.
It was the beginning of mystery, friendship, and love, and the outcome of mixing all three together with two unsuspecting victims.

Easie Reynolds and Anderson Evans were drawn to the same, simple thing—each other.

But, sometimes, undeniable chemistry isn’t enough. After all, how easy is it to get to know someone when they’re constantly pretending to be someone else?

I know I know its been AGES since BIIB did a review but I’ve been in a massive book funk lately! I’m finally getting back into the swing of things and decided to jump back into it with none other than Quirks and Kinks by Laurel Ulen Curtis.  Laurel has such a unique writing style that I’m currently on a mission to read everything she’s written.

Laurel hooked me with Hate: A Love Story, then convinced me that she’s the author for me with her A is for Alpha Male series, She’s got this way of making me laugh, and snort and then turn around and make me cry!! Not many people can do that and Laurel has done it with every book I’ve read so far. Quirks and Kinks is no different.

The premise is really interesting. Easie is a struggling actress in LA who lands the roll in a new TV series called “Quirks and Kinks” and it show cases a different couple each week and high lights their quirk or kink. Easie is a badass lead character. Normally I see characters who are  weak and just plain out annoying. Easie on the other hand was a bitch. I say that in a good way though, she tells it like it is and doesn’t back down. Easie may have been a bitch but when she opened herself up and I really loved her softer side.

“You better watch blowing all that smoke up my ass, Larry. Might start a fire”

Anderson was a lot of fun and man was he HOT!!!  He was sweet and funny and I absolutely fell in love with him, His back story really made me feel for him, His and Tammy’s friendship really stood out to me too!

“My sins have nothing to do with God and everything to do with regret.”

All in all I really loved this book. Laurel has this way with her writing style that I just adore. S Quirks and Kinks will make you laugh and cry in the very best way. It will have you on an emotional roller coaster that you’ll never want to get off of.

Passion woman and man

“Embers?” He lifts a dark brow, and I try to unstick my tongue from the roof of my mouth.

Kind of hard with all that muscled, male, inked flesh in full display in front of me. He’s shirtless, and oh God, his nipples are pierced. Silver hoops pass through the small brown nubs, gleaming. His bare chest is sculpted and hard, from his pecs to the cut abs and the fine dark trail of hairs leading into the waistband of his gray jogging pants.

Sweat glistens on his skin, on the colorful ink covering his arm, the swirls and lines dipping from his left shoulder down to a defined pec. A demon is tattooed there, stylized wings and a monstrous head, fading into the purple and blue of other, older-looking tats. And then of course there’s the cobra I noticed on his arm the other day.

“Hey,” I say vaguely, my brain on shut-down. I swallow hard, try again. “What does the cobra stand for?”

Both his brows arch now, eyes wide, their green-blue irises crystalline in the morning light. He glances down at his arm, then back at me. “What?”

“What does the snake stand for?” I wave in his direction, wondering if I should cut my losses, turn about and run away right frigging now. Being antisocial is one thing – seeing it in action is another.

As I’m about to turn and run, one corner of his mouth curls up.

“You’re funny,” he says, and it stops me in my tracks.

“No, I’m not.”

“Yes, you are, trust me.” He grins. “How about we start again. Good morning, Embers.”

If flames jump from my cheeks, it won’t surprise me. “Morning.”

“Would you like to come inside?” he says, that sexy grin lingering on his full lips. “There might be coffee.”

“No, thanks.” The need to flee is worse than ever, only I’m caught in his spell and can’t move. He’s staring at me, giving me a lazy, slow once-over, from the top of my head to my toes curling in my sandals.

“What, no pet name for me today?”

Oh God, what am I doing here? “Cut it out, Jesse. Don’t be an ass.”

I expect a witty comeback, but instead something shutters behind his bright eyes, and strangely, I feel guilt wash over me. He rubs a hand over his face and slumps against the doorframe, muscles rolling in his arms.

“This is who I am, Embers,” he drawls, closing his eyes. “What you see is what you get. I told you that you’d get tired of me soon.”

But for the first time, I’m not so sure about that.
